Edward HUGHES, Professor of French, Queen Mary, University of London
Edward HUGHES is a specialist of twentieth-century French literature. His areas of expertise include Marcel Proust, Albert Camus, French colonial culture, Exoticism and Francophone literature of the Maghreb. He served as President of the Society for French Studies between 2008 and 2010 and is a member of the Équipe Proust at the Institut des textes & manuscrits modernes based at the École Normale Supérieure. His latest book, Proust, Class, and Nation, was published by Oxford University Press in September 2011.Â
