The Maison Française d'Oxford is situated between Oxford town centre and Summertown (North Oxford). It is approximately 10 minutes walk from the Bodleian Library.

Getting to Oxford from London

BY BUS

From London Heathrow:

Air Line buses run from Central Bus Station, Bay 14, or Terminal 4, Bay 15.
Departures every half an hour between 7am and 11pm.
Journey time: 70 minutes from Central Bus Station, 90 minutes from Terminal 4.

From central London :
  • Oxford Tube,
    Buses run from: Victoria (Grosvenor Gardens), Marble Arch, Notting Hill Gate, Shepherd's Bush (Kensington Hilton), Hillingdon (Barnard's Lodge Hotel).
    Departures every 12 minutes between 8am and 9pm , every 20 to 60 minutes between 9pm and 8am.
    Journey time: Approx.1 hour 40 minutes.
  • Oxford Express X 90,
    Buses run from: Victoria Coach Station Gate 10, Victoria (station exit, Buckingham Palace Road , bus stop UA), Marble Arch bus stop Y, Gloucester Place bus stop Q, Hillingdon.
    Departures every 20 minutes between 9am and 9pm , every 30 to 60 minutes between 9pm.
    Journey time: Approx. 1 hour 40 minutes.

BY TRAIN

Express trains run from Paddington station.
Journey time: 1 hour

How to reach the Maison Française from the train station:
Walk out of the train station on to the main road towards central Oxford. The modern Said Business School is on your left; cross the junction with the Royal Oxford Hotel on your right. Carry on down Hythe Bridge Street. At the pelican crossing continue straight down George Street. At the crossroads with Cornmarket Street turn left into Magdalen Street. At the bus stop outside Debenhams / Borders, take any bus marked Summertown or Banbury Road and ask for Canterbury Road or for Park Town. Get off at the stop immediately after Gee's Restaurant on your left. Walk back towards town. Norham Road is the first on the left, just after the pedestrian crossing. The Maison Française is the third building on the left on Norham Road.

BY CAR

Take the A501 from central London for 5 miles, then the A40 from the Ealing Acton exit for 13 miles. Pick up the M40 around Denham for 30 miles, and then rejoin the A40 near Wheatley to get to Oxford. After about 5 miles you come to a roundabout with McDonalds on the left; take 3rd exit (A40 towards Witney). Continue about 3 miles to next roundabout; take 1st exit on left into Banbury Road. Continue towards the city centre along Banbury Road, through Summertown shopping area; about 1 mile beyond Summertown, turn left by Cotswold Lodge Hotel into Norham Road. The Maison Française is the third building on the left as you go down Norham Road. Approximate journey time (according to Michelin): 58 miles in 1 hour 24 minutes.
