Luc Foisneau is a CNRS Director of research at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. He is the author of Hobbes et la toute-puissance de Dieu (Paris, 2000) and edited Leviathan After 350 Years (Oxford, 2004, with T. Sorell) and The Dictionary of Seventeenth-Century French Philosophers (London/New York, 2008)
