PhD student at Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes (EPHE), subject area “Religions and Thought Systems”

A Romanian student, Corina Petronela Untea came to Paris, thanks to a scholarship of the French Government for a Masters degree in Social Sciences of Religion at EPHE. The fruitful collaboration with Prof. Philippe Portier lead to the pursuit of her studies with a PhD in the subject area Religions and Thought Systems” at the same institution. Under the supervision of Prof. Portier, Ms. Untea joined the research unit of GSRL with which she participated as a Teaching Assistant in an exchange program with Washington University in St. Louis, Mo, USA. The purpose of her two month stay at Maison Française is that of library research on the French-British public policies aimed at accommodating new religious practices in Western Europe, such as Islam.
