A lecture and a follow-up seminar given by Jean-Benoît PUECH, Université d’Orléans
As university lecturer (whose thesis was supervised by Gérard Genette), literary critic, and novelist-biographer Puech’s work is concerned with questions of authorship. A great admirer of the novelist and poet Louis-René des Forêts, Puech is fascinated by the representation of the writer and the complexities of authorial voice. Many of his works are written under pseudonyms and involve a fictional writer, Benjamin Jordane.
Puech’s works include writings by and about this invented figure, including an edition of his diary, and recently a full biographical study. Publications  include:  Du vivant de l’auteur, Champ Vallon, coll. « Recueil », 1990 ; Benjamin Jordane, L'Apprentissage du roman, Champ Vallon, coll. « Recueil », 1993 ;  Présence de Jordane, Champ Vallon, coll. « Recueil », 2002 ;  Jordane revisité, Champ Vallon, coll. « Recueil », 2004 ; Yves Savigny, Une biographie autorisée, P.O.L, 2010 ; Par quatre chemins, entretiens, Les Impressions nouvelles, 2011.
