Gabriella Parussa is Professor in Linguistics and Philology at the University Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3, and Visiting Fellow at the University of Oxford (St. Catherine’s College) for Michelmas Term 2019.
Her research interests include the history of the French language, the relation between spoken and written French, Medieval theatre and the works of Christine de Pizan. At the moment, she is working on two main projects:
· the first one will result in the creation of a corpus of French dialogues (13th-21st century), which will be made available to all researchers in open source. This corpus (CoDiF) will allow investigations and studies in linguistics, and especially in pragmatics and historical pragmatics.
· The second project, crossing philology and textual genetics, aims at defining how authors, reworkers and printers modify the texts when a new edition is prepared. Thanks to digital tools, this research material will be accessible and will further our understanding of the writing and re-writing process.
