Please tell us about your research project.
I am a third-year PhD student at the University of Orléans. I am studying law with a focus on parliamentary practices, which are unwritten rules on which depends the running of Parliament. I intend to show that, though unwritten, these rules can be considered part of the legal corpus. I am especially interested in drawing a comparison between French and British parliamentary practices. This approach allows me to work on both legal theory and sociology, all the while diving into the very technical work of analysing parliamentary proceedings.
Could you please tell us a bit more about your scholarship/exchange programme?
I am enjoying a three months stay in Oxford thanks to a common program between the MFO and the Institute of European and Comparative Law of Oxford. Being part of the Oxford Institute is an amazing opportunity, as it allows me to take part in a variety of fascinating seminars. It has allowed me to meet researchers from all over the world and have in-depths conversations about my research - as well as about many non-legal topics !
First impressions of Oxford/ the University?
The city of Oxford is incredibly cinematic with its magnificent monuments and the university gowns that run through it. The libraries of the University are also ideal places for study and research. The High Table experience at Brasenose College definitely feels unique and takes you into another world"
