'International Dialogue and Identity'

On the international scene, the observation of the choices and attitudes might generate conflict, adding to the underlying causes of antagonisms. Focusing on the relationship between choice and interpretation, a greater control of this issue could perhaps be achieved. In an interactive context, the choices made by other agents (including the choice of certain speech acts) are signals that reveal potentially important information about the way in which these agents weigh or rank the different values guiding their choices, or about different aspects of their respective relationship to benchmark norms or principles.
