This international workshop focuses on cultural mediators between Belgium and Central Europe. It aims to examine the European transfer of Belgian modernism (1870–1940) and to explore contemporary concepts of cultural theory from a historical perspective.

As the inaugural event within the framework of the PDR project "La Belgique ‘lue’ en allemand et en tchèque” (UCLouvain/ULB), the workshop seeks to open a preliminary dialogue on the reception of Belgian literature and culture through a triangular lens that includes Czech and German-speaking cultural contexts. It brings together scholars from a range of European universities and institutions.
