Sofiane, the son of a former Algerian embassy clerk, has moved from place to place throughout his life. Now a student in Lyon, his visa has been revoked, and he lives under the constant threat of deportation. In the hope of regularising his status, he takes a job at a Muslim funeral home.

Amidst parties, fleeting encounters, and the solemnity of his new work, Sofiane embarks on a journey of self-discovery—one that gradually shapes his identity and marks his passage into adulthood.
