Please tell us about your research project.
I am a second year PhD student in philosophy of medicine at École Normale Supérieure-PSL, in the République des Savoirs laboratory (UAR 3608). I work under the supervision of Jean-Marc Mouillie. My PhD thesis is focused on the work of French philosopher and physician Georges Canguilhem. By putting his clinical philosophy to the test of internal medicine and endocrinology, I aim to re-evaluate the concept of "individual" in order to adjust this concept of metaphysical origin to clinical realities and their ethical issues.
Could you please tell us a bit more about your scholarship/exchange programme?
I was lucky to be selected as part of the cooperation agreement between PSL University and the MFO to carry out a doctoral research visit. Thanks to this opportunity, I plan to meet and discuss with researchers specialised in my field and benefit from the rich collections of writing works in philosophy of medicine within the Bodleian Library.
Impressions of Oxford University?
Oxford is a particularly charming place that provides a unique setting for research and teaching. It is the ideal environment to take my research further. Furthermore, the MFO is a place where multidisciplinarity reigns, which is an essential asset for my thesis.
