Hélène Leblanc is a historian of early modern philosophy (16th-17th c.), currently adjunct lecturer at the FAPSE of Geneva University.
In 2015, she earned her PhD on semiotic theories in early modern philosophy, which she published as a book (Vrin, 2021, Italian transl. by C. Marmo BUP, 2023).
Following her PhD, she had a postdoctoral period in Geneva, where she studied the history of philosophy of language and mind. She then worked in Louvain-la-Neuve, researching the influence of scholastic philosophy on early modern theories of literature and art. Starting in 2023, she conducted research combining the history of philosophy and martial history, examining scholastic logic as an agonistic practice and exploring connections between late medieval and early modern fencers and philosophers. She carried on this research first as a postdoctoral researcher at the LabEx COMOD of the University of Lyon, and currently as an associate member of the IHRIM of the University of Lyon.
During the month of February 2026, she works as a research fellow in the project NOTCOM at the Maison française d’Oxford.
