Please tell us about your research project.
I am currently writing a master's thesis in comparative literature (German-French) on the notion of “detail” between the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon and the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle. I intend to pursue a doctoral thesis on this notion in modern literatures using a corpus of German, French, and English texts. Most of my time here is dedicated to my research in the libraries, where I have access to a substantial body of secondary literature on my topic. However, I also spend time at the college with which I am affiliated and where I am discovering the academic world of Oxford.
Could you please tell us a bit more about your scholarship/exchange programme?
My exchange programme is a partnership between the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon and the Maison française d’Oxford for a research stay of three months.
First impressions of Oxford/the University?
Oxford is a wonderful city that seems timeless. There is no end to discovering its treasures and always something to do. The welcome at the Maison française has been very warm, the team and researchers are interesting and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere is both studious and pleasant.
