Jean-Sébastien Borghetti is professor of private law at Paris-Panthéon-Assas université. After graduating in law and business administration, he wrote his PhD on product liability in a comparative perspective and was first a professor in Nantes before moving to Paris in 2009. He specialises in tort and contract, both in a domestic and comparative perspective. He has had regular contact with Oxford over the last years and organised a colloquium on the reform of French civil liability law at St John’s College with Professor Simon Whittaker in 2018 (published as French Civil Liability in Comparative Perspective, Hart, 2019). He is staying at the MFO in May and is hosted by the Institute of European and Comparative Law as the Paris Visiting Fellow 2023.
