Hybrid public lecture by professor of French literature Alexandre Gefen on empathy and resilience (in French)

French scholar Alexandre Gefen will give a public lecture on September 5th, 2022 at 6:00pm.

This hybrid talk will take place at the Maison française d’Oxford, and is supported by the Higher Education, Research and Innovation department of the French Embassy in the UK, and the Maison Française d’Oxford. This is a free, in-person, and online event.

Alexandre Gefen is senior researcher at the CNRS Theory and History of Modern Art and Literature Unit (UMR7172, THALIM, CNRS / Université Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3) and  a historian of ideas and literature.  He is the author of numerous articles and essays on culture, contemporary literature and literary theory. Latest publications: Territoires de la non-fiction, Brill, 2020. With Olivier Bessard-Banquy and Sylvie Ducas, Best-sellers. L'industrie du succès, Armand Colin, 2021. The idea of literature.
